Alumni Author Tina Adler

Tina Adler '73 has written “The Alzheimer’s Action Plan”, published by St. Martin’s Press. The book focuses on people who have friends, family, colleagues or neighbors who are in the early stages of any kind of a memory disorder, or for people who are worried about their own memory. She co-wrote the book with two Duke University professors. Tina is a freelance writer and editor specializing in health and science. She cared for two family members who had Alzheimer’s disease and lives in Cabin John, Maryland.

Reunion Weekend Enjoyed by Many

Reunion Weekend 2008 was enjoyed by over 100 alumni and their families, as well as current and past faculty. The celebration April 25 and 26 was filled with sunshine, laughter, and tradition as connections were renewed and strengthened. From the May Day celebration, to the Welcome Barbecue, to an array of interesting classes and tours, to the Alumni Luncheon, Reunion weekend was one to remember.

Potomac Alum Create Documentary

Two Potomac Alumni, Jed Wolfington ('91) and Will Langhorne ('91), recently collaborated in producing a short documentary "A Day in the Life of a Grand Prix Racer." Jed is a documentary filmmaker and Will is a professional race-car driver. The fim presents a behind-the-scenes look at the 2007 Belgian Grand Prix. It is narrated by David Lomax, parent of Jason ('88) and Karen ('91).

Potomac Alum Performed on Saturday Night Live

Potomac alumnus, Rostam Batmanglij '02 and his band Vampire Weekend appeared on Saturday Night Live on March 8.
With the release of their first album on January 29, 2008, Vampire Weekend has drawn critical acclaim. Their music draws on the many interests of the band: African guitar music, the Western classical canon, hazy memories of summers in Cape Cod, winters in upper Manhattan and reggaeton. In the past few months they have appeared on MTV and David Letterman and have also been featured in The New York Times, Rolling Stones, NPR and GQ.
