Technology at Potomac


Every classroom has access to the internet and our campus network, making file storage, resources access standards for all aspects of campus activity and administration.

Lower School

  • Three computers per classroom
  • A state of the art computer lab
  • Technology driven library program
  • A fully-articulated technology program with instructional benchmarks for each grade level

Middle School

  • Two laptop carts
  • A state of the art computer lab
  • Classroom set of computers in the Arundel Family Library
  • Digital photography and video editing components to the Middle School Technology Program

Intermediate School

  • A one-to-one tablet program
  • A state of the art computer lab
  • In support of the one to one tablet program, each teacher uses tablet PC technology to support instruction in the classroom
  • Teachers and students using LCD projector and audio systems in the classroom for instruction and project presentations
  • Each student has an e-mail account and access to cutting edge teaching/learning opportunities, including blogging and discussion boards, digital assignment submission and integrated technology instruction

Upper School

  • Two computer labs
  • Two laptop carts
  • Teachers and students using LCD projector and audio systems in the classroom for instruction and project presentations
  • Nearly all classrooms will have smartboard technology installed
  • Document cameras in classrooms make the visual components of instruction more exciting
  • Each student has an e-mail account and access to cutting edge teaching/learning opportunities, including blogging and discussion boards, digital assignment submission and integrated technology instruction

Tablet Program

The Intermediate School launched a tablet program in the 2006-07 academic year.

All IS faculty received tablets and training with the goal of implementing a one-to-one tablet program by year's end. Watch this space for news and progress on the program.
