HR Coordinator

The Potomac School, a K-12 private independent school, seeks an HR Coordinator to provide HR support in the areas of recruitment, compensation, benefits, HRIS, answer day-to-day questions on policies and procedures and also cross-train with payroll function. This candidate will have excellent communication skills, both oral and written. The candidate must be able to multi-task and meet deadlines. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain positive, effective relationships with employees at all levels. A minimum of two years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree is required.

Payroll Specialist

The Potomac School, a K-12 private independent school, is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to handle the payroll for 250+ employees. The payroll is processed via Ceridian so current Ceridian experience is preferred. The position involves the transmission of biweekly and monthly payrolls. Compile all payroll data and reconcile all payroll runs, i.e. garnishments, vacation time, insurance, 403B, health benefit and other miscellaneous deductions. Candidates should have 3+ years payroll experience and MUST be proficient in Microsoft Excel. The candidate selected for this position will report directly to the HR Manager and also work closely with the CFO on the salary budget process.

Director of Summer Programs

The Potomac School, a private K-12 school in McLean, VA, seeks an experienced Director for their Summer Programs Department. Will be responsible for managing the operations and personnel of a large day camp program (180 seasonal employees and 1,000 campers). Must have proven management and leadership experience working within a team environment. Experience working with payroll systems and Excel is required, FileMaker a plus. Responsibilities include:

  • Planning camp programming and services; marketing
  • Supervising/Evaluating Staff Personnel
  • Hiring
  • Training
  • Managing budget to reach revenue and profit goals
  • Ensuring compliance with Virginia Dept. of Social Services licensing requirements and standards
  • Managing payroll and other HR duties including writing staff and camper handbooks, managing employee files and paperwork, and dispute resolution
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Determining financial aid

Assistant to the Director of Summer Programs

The Potomac School, a private K-12 school in McLean, VA, seeks an experienced Assistant to the Director of Summer Programs. This position is a full-time, year-round exempt position. The Assistant to the Director plays an integral role in assuring the quality and success of Summer Programs and is responsible for many of the daily operations of Summer Programs’ office.

Primary responsibilities include maintaining records, answering parent inquiries, enrolling families in appropriate programs, coordinating annual publications, processing accounts payables and receivables, and compiling program and financial data for reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Proficiency in MS Excel and Quicken is required. Strong candidates need to be independent, highly organized, efficient and detailed-oriented. Applicants must have excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Bachelor’s degree is required.


Lower and Middle School Substitute Teachers:

Potomac's Lower School and Middle School are searching for qualified teacher substitutes for the coming school year. Candidates should have at least a bachelor's degree and experience working in a classroom environment.
